Today we had to get to know that the other chick died as well. Probably the weather is too cold for such little creatures. The housegarden has now two more gravestones for Ko and Ko.

Today we had a soccergame together with the family and their friends. As a matter of my very poor goalkeeper-skills Dara managed, without wanting it, to end the game with a very easy shot >.<
Yesterday we all had a small Easter ceremony together wich came to an end in the late evening with traditional Irish music and dance.

The month of March is not a good one for our chicken. Ko died today. He was very weak already two days ago, so that Cassandra and I decided to take him inside over night. The next morning he woke Cassandra up with a happy "piieps". His mother was very happy as well to take him back and they were one family for one day again. But this early morning Janina had to find him half dead in a corner when she was feeding the chickens. We put him warm and cosy in my room, where he died during the morning.

St Patrick's Day, 17 Mar 2008
Sarah, Kostas, my father and I were in Dublin for sunny St. Patrick's Day. It was a nice crowded, happy, buzzing atmosphere after the quite winter on the island. My father and I got out of the city center in the morning to not be enclosed by the big parade. Some people secured good places with a good view on the coming wagons, balloons and orchestras already two hours before it started . Thanks to these crowds outside, we got a relaxed, long, free glance on the Book of Kells inside the Trinity College and some other sights. In between we watched the parade and the hype around it - green-white-orange people everywhere on roofs, window sills, ladders, posts, lanterns, phone boxes,… We stuck quite out of the crowd because we weren't wearing a colossal, green, fuzzy, ugly whatever (mostly hat or other headwear).
I enjoyed the city's comfort and the comfort of Justyna's flat in the evening, where we could get some rest from the unusual excitement : ) Thanks again for hosting us!
