9 - 18th
This week we could already see how it will be without Anja and Cassandra, because they went to the filmfestival in Belfast. It was really quiet and sometimes lonely, especially because Sarah, Jeremy and Kostas are working in the Pierhouse at the weekends and in the evening, so that we often ate with only two or three people. Janina tried to cheer me up by making ruckus for three, but I wasn't too delighted, when the picknick table nearly fell on my. I have to admit though, that I laughed with her lying in the grass (next to me), wet from the water carafe, but the soup bowls still sitting on the table.
Not so nice was the ruckus among our feathered friends. Sebastian, our drake, couldn't handle his three women anymore, so he kicked Hertha out of his harem. Actually he didn't kick, but pick her. When Janina tried to save the poor duck, she was already so excited, that she escaped over the fence, down into a blackberry field. Boldly Janina struggled her way through the brambles and rescued Hertha. She could calm her by cuddling with her for a while and then convinced her to move in with the chickens. From now on she is not locked in at night with the other ducks, but sleeps in the chicken shed and hides her eggs wherever she wants.

Thursday, 10 April
The unthinkable happened - our herb bed was displaced. After two days of moving stones, soil and stonewalls we found it in the backyard. It seemed to be still a bit disoriented and puzzled. We did our best to let it get a deep breath by removing some of the proliferating mint and Calendula and we stayed with it for lunch at the picknick table. So hopefully it will feel at home there soon and thank us with seasoning through the seasons.

Fridays
Due to many issues among the An Charraig residents we decided to have a weekly meeting with Laura, our mentor. She comes for lunch and cheers everyone up with her omnipresent laugh, we enjoy some talks, before we get to the business. She is a great mediator and is almost able to stop us pulling our hair and spitting over the table ;-) Thanks for your commitment and support to solve the situation : )
